There are at least nine registries in North America that will register an Olde English Bulldogge. They have different histories, different rules, different politics, and very different approaches to what counts as a "real" OEB. This page lays them out honestly, including OBBA's own.
Disclosure. OBBA runs this site. We've tried to write each registry's section as fairly as we can. If you see something inaccurate, email us at contact and we'll correct it.
OBBA - Olde Bulldogge Breed Association
Founded 2008. Domain: bulldoggeregistry.com. Active OEB registry. Dual-registration accepted from IOEBA, OEBKC, UKC, LBA, and most other recognized registries with documented pedigree.
- Fees: $20 flat for dog, $20/puppy for litters. Kennel: $24/month or $240/year.
- Public dog profile pages with full pedigree, photo, COI, titles.
- Modern website with online registration, breeder dashboard, instant certificates.
- No required health testing.
- Public breeder directory with Responsible Breeder Pledge commitments.
IOEBA - International Olde English Bulldogge Association
Founded 1995. Domain: ioeba.net. Long-running multi-bully-breed registry that registers OEBs alongside other bulldog and bully breeds. Self-described as non-discriminatory regarding bloodlines.
- Multi-breed: registers ~13 different bully and bulldog breeds.
- Static website, no public dog profile pages, breeder list by state.
- Hosts events and maintains a breed standard for the OEB.
- No public content cadence, no health hub.
OEBKC - Olde English Bulldogge Kennel Club
Founded 2001. Domain: oebkc.com (mirrored at oebkcinfo.wixsite.com/oebkc). UKC parent club for the OEB. ARBA's national breed club.
- Only recognizes dogs with documented Leavitt-foundation lineage.
- Member-only quarterly newsletter; thin public content.
- Hosts club shows and maintains hip-title programs.
- Tighter standard, smaller eligible breeding pool than OBBA or IOEBA.
UKC - United Kennel Club
Founded 1898. Domain: ukcdogs.com. Multi-breed registry. Recognized the Olde English Bulldogge effective January 1, 2014. The OEB breed standard PDF dates to April 2018.
- Single-registration accepts dogs from OEBKC, Olde Bulldogge Club Europe, and Leavitt Bulldogge Association. OBBA-only papers may not single-register here without verification.
- Strong show-circuit infrastructure.
- OEB-specific content is limited to the breed standard and a find-a-breeder tool.
LBA - Leavitt Bulldog Association
Founded 2005 by David Leavitt. Domain: leavittbulldogassociation.com. Registers "Leavitt Bulldogs" - the breed name David Leavitt prefers for his foundation-derived dogs. UKC accepts LBA papers for OEB dual-registration.
- Strict on Leavitt-foundation lineage; not all OEBs are eligible.
- Tighter approval process for studs and litters.
- Strong breed-history content (history, working ability, famous dogs).
ARBA - American Rare Breed Association
Founded 1991. Domain: arba.org. A show-organization registry that recognizes the OEBKC as the OEB's national breed club. Single and litter registration available.
- You generally need OEBKC registration first to register with ARBA.
- Show-circuit-oriented; no breed-specific content for OEB.
NKC - National Kennel Club
Founded 1964. Domain: nationalkennelclub.com. Multi-breed registry that lists "Old English Bulldogge" (their spelling). Has only a single breed standard page for the OEB.
- Effectively a fee-for-papers registry with no breed-specific community.
- Often used as a secondary registration for dogs from other registries.
Other registries that may register OEBs
The World Bully Registry (WBR), the New England Bull Breed Registry, and the National Bulldogge Association (currently offline as of May 2026) all register OEBs at varying scales. ABKC (American Bully Kennel Club) is sometimes cited as recognizing OEBs but their primary breed is the American Bully. None of these have meaningful content footprints for the OEB specifically.
Should you dual-register?
Many OBBA breeders dual-register their dogs with one or two other registries, typically UKC for the show circuit, IOEBA or LBA for community, OEBKC if the dog qualifies. There's no single right answer. Considerations:
- Showing. If you plan to show, UKC has the most active OEB show circuit. LBA also runs events.
- Buyer expectations. Some buyers will only buy a dog with multiple registry papers. Others won't care.
- Bloodline restrictions. Not every OEB qualifies for OEBKC or LBA registration. OBBA accepts a broader set.
- Cost. Each additional registry adds fees per dog and per litter.
How to pick the right registry
For most OEB owners and breeders in 2026, the answer is "OBBA plus one other." OBBA for the modern site, the public dog profiles, and the flat fees. UKC, IOEBA, OEBKC, or LBA as a secondary registration depending on what your goals are.
If you're new to the breed and just want to register a single dog or your first litter, start with OBBA - the fees are the lowest, the process is the fastest, and you can always add a secondary registration later.
