Common questions

What does it cost to register a dog with OBBA?

$20 flat. OBBA charges the same $20 across registrations and does not use tiered Silver, Gold, or Platinum packages.

What documents do I need?

Your existing registration certificate from another registry and your pedigree from that registry, as a PDF or a photo.

Which registries does OBBA accept dual-registration from?

OBBA accepts dual-registration from IOEBA, OEBKC, UKC, LBA, ARBA, and NKC.

What happens if the names on my paperwork do not match?

OBBA reviews every submission. The dog's registered name and the owner's name must match your certificate exactly. If anything does not match, OBBA contacts you, and refunds the $20 if the registration cannot proceed.

Does the breeder's prefix stay in my dog's registered name?

Yes. Under the OBBA naming policy the breeder's prefix stays in the registered name for the life of the dog. A new owner may add an @ suffix only when the dog enters their own breeding program.
